Dr. John F. Guarino, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon and the founder of Charlotte Harbor Surgical (John F. Guarino, M.D., P.A.) in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Dr. Guarino specializes in gastrointestinal endoscopy and minimally invasive laparoscopic and open general surgery, providing attentive, expeditious care tailored to each patient.
Dr. Guarino completed his undergraduate education at St. John's University in New York and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., in 1990. He completed his residency in general surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo from 1990 to 1995.
For more than 31 years, Dr. Guarino has cared for generations of families across Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, and Charlotte County. He believes patients should never feel rushed in the exam room and should be able to receive expert surgical and cancer care right here in their own community without traveling out of county.
Dr. Guarino performs outpatient (same-day) procedures at Murdock Surgery Center and practices alongside his partners Dr. Matthew Tufts, Dr. Vincent Brown, and Dr. Charles Campbell.
